The advantage of a straight shank hook is its power and hooking response, which offset hooks lack, allowing it to easily penetrate bulky worms, often used for flipping and pitching into vegetation and weeds, and even the upper jaw of bass. The only drawback is "worm slippage."
The "Flippin' Straight Worm 144" features a barb tune on the shank using heat-shrink tubing to completely eliminate this! Combined with the original barb keeper, this successfully improves holding performance and snag-resistant performance. It performs perfectly when casting Texas rigs at short distances where power is transmitted more directly.
