The heaviest MaxScent ever!
The Calm x Outbreak flatworm features a high bottom touch and instantaneous action that triggers reaction bites!
"Attract with scent, hold with taste" The unique MaxScent
formula is kneaded into the body, which is then further soaked and matured to achieve more bites and longer durations.
This is the heaviest model in MaxScent history, giving you a clear bottom-touch feel even without a sinker.
The thick tail instantly activates the target's predatory switch when you raise the rod.
By attaching a nail sinker to the head or using a weighted hook, you can create a spiral fall, which is also effective for gill patterns.
A slow retrieve will lure the target with a swaying roll action, and a tug-on retrieve will make the tail slap the water, appealing to the surface. The
slit makes it easy to attach a hook and hides the tip.
In recent years, the MaxScent series has continued to release relatively finesse shapes, but I personally wanted to create a high-density flat worm using MaxScent materials, the heaviest in the series and with the largest surface area. Flat worms
are notoriously difficult to cast far, but the COTONGUE weighs just 24g, allowing for long-distance casting while completely ignoring air resistance.
Furthermore, this weight clearly conveys to the angler a sense of control and touch at the bottom, even in deep water areas.
The design is extremely simple, but there are many details that
go into it, such as the "sense of life in the water" and the parts that create a sense of "stillness and movement." One of the most important features is the "thick tail." It is designed to not move, especially when it falls or stays still when rigged with a no-sinker rig. However, when you give the rod a jerk, it creates a "boom boom!" action that "hits the water hard."
Recommended usage
- Bottom approach using a no-sinker rig, such as dragging or jerking and staying
- By setting it with a weighted rig and a light Texas rig, you can create a spiral fall with a long hang time.
- Use it as a trailer for football weights or rubber jigs and hook it directly onto hard bottoms or structures for a strike-type approach.
