Q: What length are DockStix?
A: The DockStix are all 16” in length.
Q: How does DockStix avoid rubbing against gunnels?
A: The DockStix are made to attach to the cleat on the top of the gunnel and when the shock cord is pulled tight should not come in contact with it. Additionally there is a protective cap on the ends of the DockStix. When attached correctly the DockStix will be horizontal and the top of the gunnel level with the attachment point on the dock.
Q: Can you use DockStix with retractable cleats?
A: Yes they work very well with all types of cleats including the collapsing style.
Q: Will DockStix work on cleats that are on the inside of gunnel?
A: Yes, we designed them to work on many cleat styles and have rubber grip ends to protect the gel coat from the DockStix resting on the top cap.
Q: Will the DockStix come in contact with gel-coat of your boat at anytime?
A: When DockStix are installed correctly the aluminum part of the DockStix should not come into contact with your gel-coat.
Q: What height and length of boats will DockStix work with?
A: While Dockstix were originally designed for bass boats, they will also work effectively on other types of fishing boats 21 feet or less provided that the dock attachment point and the gunnel are at equal height to one another.
