With an extraordinary ability to attract fish and elicit response, the mysterious power of the swimbait “Osaka-kun” affectionately nicknamed by staff members, debuts as the OSAKANA SWIMMER.
Just as the nickname Osakana-kun suggests, the concept is to “Attracts bass just like a real baitfish”. OSAKANA SWIMMER has been developed with “water displacement” for powerful attraction.
The body is shaped with a square cross-section for distinct sharpness that gives it a strong presence on retrieves and equally on the fall and pause. The head is made fat and dorsal/anal fins shaped to catch water. The body catches water on not just retrieves but on drifts where the slightest line tension pushes water. And to bring this presence into “liveliness”, sufficient float becomes necessary. A finely placed weight gives the perfect float to the OSAKANA SWIMMER that gives it a natural “fall speed” and parallel posture for a lifelike presentation. The result is an indescribable liveliness in the water.
With its tail action being ON or OFF during free falls and pauses, the swimbait has been successful in being “an interesting lifeform” that bass can’t leave alone.
Eliminating the eye and split ring/swivel, the hook is attached with ease using the inline system. Hookup ratio is improved by placing the hook close to its head where bass tend to strike. Any damage to the body is reduced by pushing the hook point through the outer body slit and held through the float slit. This increases durability especially for high impact casts like skipping. Once the fish bite, the hook releases from the body which reduces lost fish.
Bottom hook placement
The inline pipe in the body runs along both spine and stomach, allowing the hook to be configured depending on situation and use. Simply put the line through the nose tip and out of either spine or stomach hole, then tie it to the treble hook included.
※ The hook placement on the spine is effective for fall and pause. For optimal swimming action, inserting a nail weight into the stomach is recommended for added balance.
The OSAKANA SWIMMER has a balanced design that covers dead-slow to fast retrieves, but as a swimbait, its main use is a slow retrieve. Also, its ability to attract and induce bites on the fall and pause, makes it just as effective when used as a “swimbait that sits” for sight fishing scenarios.
